Dr. Kathrin Pabst is a German and Norwegian ethnologist, researcher, author, and speaker with a Ph.D. in professional ethics. She has extensive experience addressing ethical challenges in museums, particularly those involving sensitive topics.
After many years as Head of the Scientific Department at the Vest-Agder Museum in Kristiansand, Norway, and project leader for an EU-funded collaboration project about the long-term consequences of forced migration, war and trauma, she is now leading a project for community engagement in cultural heritage
She is former Chair of ICOM Norway, co-founder and first Chair of the ICOM International Committee on Ethics and contributed to developing the Code of Ethics for Norwegian museums.
