Dr. Uzma Z. Rizvi is a Professor at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. She specialises in the archaeology of the first cities, teaching anthropology, ancient urbanism, new materialisms, critical heritage studies, decolonization / the postcolonial critique, and social practice. Her work intentionally pushes disciplinary limits, and demands ethical decolonial applications at all levels of engagement, from interpretation to research.
Dr. Rizvi is the Principal Investigator at the Laboratory for Integrated Archaeological Visualization and Heritage at the Pratt Institute. Her current research focuses on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mohenjo-Daro, Pakistan.
