Catherine C. Cole is a heritage consultant working throughout Canada and internationally focussing on decolonisation particularly in the Arctic, Western Canada and the Commonwealth. Previously she worked as a curator and heritage interpreter for museums and historic sites.
Formerly Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Association of Museums, her commitment to sustainable development began when she was the Head of the Department of Culture, Environment and Tourism for the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. Recent projects have focused on Indigenous heritage and reconciliation.
Catherine is a jury member for the ICOM Award for Sustainable Development Practice in Museums 2025.and is a member of ICOM’s Working Group on Decolonisation and the Secretary of ICOM Canada.
