Marian Pastor Roces is an independent curator, cultural critic, and policy analyst addressing cross-national concerns from her base in Manila, Philippines.
She maintains a research and activism interest in the continuous reproduction of violence through cultural infrastructure in place today in specific parts of the world. The enduring work, for her, has been a stubborn alertness to asymmetries of power, well beyond the postcolonial turn in the mid-20th century; and toughening the imagination in hopes of responding to inequity.
She leads TAOINC, a corporation curating the establishment of museums, and is presently focused on the creation of a museum to cross-cultural understanding in a location previously known for extreme violence.
