Chair of ICOM Conservation
Kate Seymour is an expert in training emerging conservators and advancing best practices in art conservation. With a background in Art History and a Master’s in Painting Conservation, she has spent over two decades shaping the field through education, research, and technical expertise.
In 2024, she founded Art Conservation Education, a platform offering hands-on workshops and advanced courses for both emerging conservators and seasoned professionals seeking Continuing Professional Development. Her teaching covers a full spectrum of painting conservation topics, from investigative techniques to treatment methodologies and preventive conservation strategies.
Kate is also committed to ICOM-CC, currently serving her third term on the Directory Board and her second as Chair.
