Dr. Luisa De Peña Diaz is Founding Director of the Dominican Resistance Memorial Museum in the Dominican Republic. Her research areas include management, economy and financing of culture, the recovery of archives of repression and historical memory, the pedagogy of memory and human rights, museology, and museography,.

She is an active participant in ICOM and its committees, and is currently Vice Chair of the International Committee of Memorial and Human Rights Museums. Further ICOM committees have included the Dominican National Committee, Permanent Committee on Legal Affairs, Ibermuseos, ICOM Executive Council, Standing Committee on Museum Definition, the Ethics Committee, and others.
