Adornment and Identity
This joint session between GLASS and DESIGN (formerly ICDAD) explores adornment in the decorative arts—including glass and other artistic mediums—as a means of expressing identity, heritage, and social belonging. It considers how these practices persist, adapt, and communicate meaning across cultures and time. Papers also relating to the subthemes of the conference, “intangible heritage,” “youth power,” and new technologies” are especially welcome, in alignment with the ICOM Dubai 2025 theme, “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.”
