About
Current Topics In Disaster Planning, Response and Recovery: Case Studies and Possible Collaborations Museums face risks to staff, collections, and sites from disaster events—including natural events and political instability and conflict. The experience of museum professionals in planning for and addressing disasters helps inform the museum field about strategies to help safeguard lives, collections, and sites. DRMC would like to share the knowledge and expertise of its members, case studies of good work done ahead of a disaster, responses to and recoveries from a disaster, including examples of strategies that succeeded and failed. By presenting these case studies, ICOM DRMC aims to strengthen expertise within ICOM on disaster risk management and encouraging professional networking around this important global topic
