About
This session presents the work of ICOM’s International Museum Research and Exchange Centre (IMREC) and its growing role as a platform for international research, dialogue, and cooperation across the museum field. After an introductory overview of IMREC’s development, strategic partnerships, and funding mechanisms, the session will highlight five projects focusing on sustainability, public funding, decolonisation, exchange, and leadership. A panel of project leads will present outcomes and future directions, followed by an open discussion with the audience on emerging global priorities and how IMREC can respond to them through research and exchange.
