The House Museum as a Witness to the Contemporary World Traditionally, house museums have been seen as portals to the past, preserving the memory of historical figures and their lived environments. Nevertheless, in the face of contemporary challenges, house museums also serve as active sites of engagement with present-day cultural shifts. This session will examine the evolving role of house museums in reflecting contemporary life, documenting present experiences for future generations, and juxtaposing historical lifestyles with modern realities.
